Sky will raise the cost of many of its packages from September, but won't say by how much or which products are affected.

A message on the communications giant's website says "some prices will increase from 1 September 2012".

This appears on Sky's TV deals page, and its broadband and home phone deals page.

When MoneySavingExpert.com asked Sky which products will be affected and by how much prices will rise, the company remained tight-lipped.

A Sky spokesman says: "We'll be contacting our customers in due course to let them know of any changes."

Sky had implemented a price freeze until 31 August 2012, but will raise costs for customers the day the hold ends. We will let you know full details when we know.

The rise will be the latest in a long line of hikes for TV and phone customers.

Millions of TalkTalk home phone customers were hit with a line rental price rise last month.

BT last upped prices in December, its third hike in 14 months but says it won't raise prices again until 2013.

Mobile customers aren't immune either. Three said last month it will raise monthly rental prices by 3.6% from July for contract customers.

Orange and T-Mobile raised monthly line rental prices by 4.34% in January and 3.7% in May, respectively.
