Money Moral Dilemma
Every week, the Money Tips email features a real-life Money Moral Dilemma (MMD for short). They're intended to encourage debate and, as such, they're usually among the most discussed threads each week.
Should my partner who lives in my house contribute to my mortgage?
My partner’s lived with me in my house since 2018. She’s never paid me any ‘rent’, saying it’d be paying off my mortgage, so she’d want a share of the home. Yet she owns a buy-to-let and uses that rent to pay her mortgage. When I look at the numbers, she’s much better off and it feels unfair. We’ve a young son together and plan to marry, so we need to work this out.
See what our MSE Forumites had to say and add your own thoughts on the Money Moral Dilemma discussion thread. Do please stick to the MSE Forum rules: keep it kind and keep it clean. Remember, there's a real person behind every dilemma.
Photo of the week
On our Gardening board our grow your own fruit and veg community likes to encourage one another with photos. This week carinjo reported on the progress of their courgettes and carrots.

Please note: We love seeing your photos in the MSE Forum, but if you're uploading one, make sure it doesn't include any personally-identifiable information such as your face or address.
Latest comping wins
Best win this week goes to fourleaf who told us: "Last week, I won a pair of tickets to see My Chemical Romance at Wembley Stadium through an Absolute Radio competition! I got into them over 20 years ago in my teens, and it was incredible finally getting to see them live last night - they were amazing!
"I comp pretty much daily, but hadn’t won anything major in nearly 18 months, so this was a lovely surprise."

Your two cents
Holding on to your current mobile phone for as long as possible can certainly be a good way to save money, and sometimes getting an 'upgrade' isn't actually that much of an improvement (like in MSE Rob's experience).
But the promise of new features, slicker designs and better technical support can sometimes be very tempting, especially if you've had your phone for a fair while.
As best as you can remember, what's the longest time you've gone without biting the bullet and forking out for a new handset?
