Ofcom has told internet service providers (ISPs) to be more upfront about broadband speeds, after an investigation found many fail to follow its code of practice.
Home insurance and repairs company HomeServe has today been fined £750,000 by telecoms regulator Ofcom for making excessive silent and abandoned calls to consumers.
Landline and broadband costs could fall after the communications regulator said it would cap the price BT can charge rival firms for renting its lines to them.
Landline users could be able to ring mobiles for less following a ruling to cut the fees mobile operators charge other phone firms for connecting calls to their networks.
Ofcom says Orange does not have a case to answer after the phone giant announced plans to hit millions of pay monthly mobile customers with price hikes. However, it has left the door open for customers to lodge individual complaints.
