Gin, gee-gees & groceries – this week's MSE Forum highlights

It's the (pinch, punch) first of the month, and the MSE Forum is abuzz with aspirational thinking – there are new MoneySaving challenges beginning, so hop aboard if you could do with a community-supported money makeover. More on these below, plus other highlights from this week.

Meet one of our Ambassadors

Simply put, we would not be able to keep the MSE Forum running smoothly without the assistance of our volunteer Ambassadors. They're experienced, knowledgeable members of the community, and each of them takes particular care of a select few boards.

This week, we'd like to introduce you to sarah1972, who focusses on the Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies and Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards.

It's great to have been involved with such a great site for so many years – it's a one-stop shop for tips, tricks, support and of course MoneySaving!

Photo of the week

Looking out of their window, MSE Forumite longleggedhair noticed his suburban neighbours had acquired two (very noisy) sheep. Cue a deluge of baaa-rmy sheep puns in the comments.

Please note: We love seeing your photos in the MSE Forum, but if you're uploading one, make sure it doesn't include any personally-identifiable information such as your face or address.

Money Moral Dilemma

Every week, the Money Tips email features a real-life Money Moral Dilemma (MMD for short). They're intended to encourage debate and, as such, they're usually among the most discussed threads each week.

Do I need to keep chasing someone I owe £1,000 to?

I'm self-employed, and when I have too much work on, I subcontract it. Several months ago, I subcontracted £1,000 of work to a supplier I've been using for years. A month later, when I requested an invoice so I could pay up, I was told it'd be sent as soon as possible. Another month later, I requested it again and was told it would be sent that evening. A further two months on, I've heard nothing. I'm willing to pay, but need the invoice for my accounts. Is it my responsibility to keep chasing it or should I let it go?

You can find out what our MSE Forumites think and add your own two cents on the Money Moral Dilemma discussion thread. Remember the MSE Forum rules: keep it kind and keep it clean. Remember, there's a real person behind every Money Moral Dilemma.

Latest comping wins

One of the most frequented boards, Competitions Time, is where compers come to find and share competitions. There are countless success stories, but here is a picture of one of the most recent. MSE Forumite klee1505 won a gin hamper.

Let the weekend be-GIN
