As a cat lover living in a sixth-floor flat in London, getting a cat full-time never seemed fair – especially as I like to travel occasionally. I thought I was doomed to live a miserable, cat-less existence... until I started researching dog fostering for our MoneySaving for dog owners guide, and discovered the RSPCA needed cat fosterers too.

There's nothing like watching your child take their wobbly first bike ride – the only issue is as soon as you buy your wannabe Laura Kenny one bike, they seem to outgrow it and need another. One solution to this, The Bike Club, lets you rent decent cycles from £5/month (plus joining and other fees), then swap them once they're too small. It's a nice idea, but can it really beat buying? We've crunched the numbers...

Audible has made the world of audiobooks accessible – yet buying one-off titles can be costly, sometimes £30+. If you're devouring several a month while spending time at home during the current lockdown, the cost can soon stack up.

It's my Mum's 69th birthday on Wednesday 5th February. Well, it would've been had we not lost her at 55 to cancer. We've been forced to celebrate many occasions without her for over a decade, but this year I've decided it's time for me to celebrate my MoneySaving Mum and how she taught me all I know.

Just for Fun
Working at MoneySavingExpert.com, obviously the purpose of my job is to help people save money. Unfortunately, I've always been bobbins at saving money for myself. But in an effort to change that, I've been trying out some of MSE's tips and tricks. Previously, I've covered the likes of train delays, overseas travel, credit scores, finding lost cash and depositing coins. Today: doing a direct debit audit (sort of).

Right, some of you know the drill by now, but if you don't, here it is. While working at MoneySavingExpert means I help others save money, when it comes to my own cash, I'm usually in a muddle. But now I'm looking to unmuddle myself and, in the process, motivate fellow MoneySavingIdiots. Previously, I've covered train delays, overseas travel and credit scores. This week: reclaiming cash (kind of).

For many, visiting Father Christmas's 'home' in Lapland is a once-in-a-lifetime dream trip. Yet costs can often run into £1,000s per person, so we’ve a host of tips to ensure you feel the crunch of snow underfoot, not a crunch on your cash.

Just for Fun
While I help people save money as part of my job at MoneySavingExpert.com, I've never been much cop at doing the same for myself. So I'm writing about my efforts to improve in an attempt to motivate others who are far from experts when it comes to MoneySaving. Previously, I've covered train delays, overseas travel, credit scores, finding lost cash and switching bank. Today: depositing coins.

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2020 went on sale last week and were snapped up within minutes. If you missed out, there are still a number of FREE ways to get to Glasto – though you'll usually have to fork out a deposit upfront (which you'll get back).

I needed a holiday, and every fibre in my body was telling me to go frolic with nature. Trees. Birds. Frogs. Puppies. Anything. I didn't have anyone to go with and nor did I have any clue where to go. So like any millennial, I went to my mum and asked what to do: "Go on a singles holiday", she said. Go alone? And a lone wolf I was. I typed into the web, 'yoga retreat for single people', as I love yoga and my single status (thanks for reminding me mum).
