Online retail giant Amazon will be pumping out hundreds of thousands of deals from 12.01am on Tuesday 8 July until 11.59pm on Friday 11 July for its 11th annual Prime Day* event, which this year has expanded from two days to four days of deals.

As the name suggests, it's only for Amazon Prime subscribers, but if you don't have it, there's a way to access the deals for free if you've never had a trial before. If you're already signed up to Prime, see if you're eligible for £15 off £30 or other 'free' Amazon credit to spend during Prime Day.

Important: Don’t allow yourself to be taken in by the hype and sucked into buying something you don’t need or can’t afford. Always do your own price comparisons to ensure you're getting the best deal possible.

What Prime Day 2025 deals can I expect?

Deals will be across all categories such as electronics, homeware, fashion and beauty. Amazon is keeping details largely under wraps and isn't likely to reveal many of its deals in advance, but we'll be analysing how good the deals are on our Amazon deals page when they launch on Tuesday 8 July. Amazon has given us a few teasers though...

Confirmed Prime Day brands, including Bose, Dyson, Lego, Ninja & Sonos

Amazon says selected products from these brands will be on offer during Prime Day: Bosch, Bose, Brita, De'Longhi, Dyson, Ghd, JBL, Lego, Shark, CeraVe, Logitech, Ninja, Philips, Puma, Sonos, and Swarovski.

Ninja Speedi 10-in-1 air fryer ON400UKCP* - £129.99 (RRP £254.99) in the October 2024 Prime sale. This is still the cheapest ever price at Amazon.

Ninja Woodfire electric BBQ grill & smoker* - £199.99 (RRP £299.99) during the July 2024 Prime sale. At the time, this was the cheapest ever price at Amazon, but it was discounted further to £194 in October 2024.

Other brands we predict will be in the sale, including Apple, Fitbit, L'Oreal & Vax

Based on deals we spotted during Prime Day last July and Prime Big Deal Days last October, there's a good chance we'll also see deals on the below:

Apple (such as AirPods and Pencil), Barbie toys, Fairy and Finish dishwasher tablets, Fitbit trackers and smartwatches, Garnier, Instant air fryers, Kärcher window vac, L'Oreal, Oral-B electric toothbrushes, Purina and Whiskas cat food, Rimmel, Sony noise-cancelling headphones, SodaStream, and Vax vacuums.

Deals will last for different periods of time

Some deals will last for the duration of the promotion, and others – 'Lightning Deals' – will be launched as often as every five minutes and last for a limited time, usually between three and 12 hours, or while stock lasts. For this year, Amazon is introducing 'Today's Big Deals' which it says will be a themed selection of limited-time deals launching at midnight each day of the promotion.

Don't assume every deal will be a winner – watch out for duds! 👎

While there are strong deals, there are also some duds. For example, during last year's Prime Day sale we spotted the previous generation Kindle Paperwhite was £119.99 in the sale, but we'd seen it previously for £20 less. The Chromecast with Google TV 4K was £29.99 in the sale, but it had previously been £7 cheaper.

Use our top five tips below to work out if a deal's really a deal.

MSE's top five tips for how to work out if it's a good deal

A deal is only a deal if you were going to buy it anyway. Write a list of what you need and only search those during Prime Day to see if there's a deal. Note down today's price so you can see how much you're really getting off (if anything) – don't rely on the advertised RRP.

If there's a product you're looking for, use a 'shopbot' comparison tool such as Google Shopping and Price Spy to find its cheapest online price on that day. However, shopbots can leave out or favour some retailers.

Free tool CamelCamelCamel charts an item's Amazon price history.

Check AO.com*, Argos*, Currys*, John Lewis* and others who may offer free extras such as a longer guarantee on some products.

This is the part of Amazon's site that sells returned or mildly-damaged items at knockdown prices (it was previously known as Amazon Warehouse). It currently has an extra 15% off selected Resale items* until 11.59pm on Tuesday 8 July – ending just as Prime Day begins. This could mean a bigger discount of 20%-30% off is coming on Wednesday 9 July, as we've seen it boost in past years. See our full Amazon Resale guide.

How to get access to Prime deals for FREE

Prime Day is aimed solely at those with Amazon Prime membership (one-day delivery plus other perks), which normally costs £95 a year or £8.99 a month.

If you've not had an Amazon Prime account before, sign up to its free 30-day trial* and you'll be eligible for Prime Day offers. Just make sure you cancel before the trial is over if you don't want to continue membership (set yourself a reminder), otherwise you'll be charged.

If you're aged 18 to 22 or a student, you can get six months' free Prime and 50% off full membership.

Can you get up to £15 Amazon credit to use during Prime Day?

From time-to-time Amazon offers 'free' credit to use against selected orders. They're not available for everyone, but it's quick to find out if you can get them.

6 days left

You may be eligible if you've never used the Amazon Photos app before

If you're a Prime member (excluding free trial), visit this Amazon* link to find out if you're eligible for £15 off a £30 or more spend at Amazon. If you aren't eligible, you should see the message 'Sorry, you are not eligible for this offer'.

If eligible, download the Amazon Photos app* and upload your first photo by 11.59pm on Monday 14 July to get £15 Amazon credit. It'll be valid on orders of £30 or more until 11.59pm on Friday 18 July.

Amazon Photos allows you to back up your photos and videos (up to 5GB) and is free for Prime members. You need to upload at least one photo to qualify for the £15 credit.

Amazon says within four days you'll receive an email confirming your £15 Amazon credit has been added to your account. It can be used on items sold by Amazon, excluding Amazon Resale, and can't be used towards items sold by third-parties, even if the item is marked as 'fulfilled by Amazon'. Digital products, baby and infant formula, and gift wrapping costs are also excluded. See full Amazon terms and conditions*.

It's a quick check to see if you're eligible for 'free' Amazon credit

If you have an Amazon account, you may be able to get £5 off a £15 spend at Amazon. It often runs promotions like this for selected customers – it doesn't reveal what the eligible criteria is, but thankfully it's just one click or tap to see if you can get it.

Check this Amazon* link when logged in – you'll see the message 'Congratulations, you are eligible for this promotion' if you can get it, or 'Sorry, you are not eligible for this promotion' if you can't. Out of the 25 Amazon accounts we checked, six (24%) were eligible, so most people likely can't get this, but it's worth a quick check if you've got a planned purchase at Amazon coming up.

If eligible, you'll need to select 'Apply promotion' before Wednesday 31 December, though as it's only valid for the first 15,000 eligible customers, it's best to do it much sooner – once activated, you'll have 15 days to use the £5 credit.

It can only be redeemed against items sold and dispatched by Amazon (not third-parties). Once you've added a minimum of £15 of qualifying items to your basket, the £5 credit will be automatically applied.

The following don't count towards the £15 minimum spend: Gift cards, Amazon Resale items, baby formula, alcoholic drinks, e-cigarettes and cartridges, digital products such as Audible, items sold on Amazon Luxury Stores, gift wrapping costs, and delivery fees.

You can only redeem the credit if all selected qualifying items have the same delivery speed, and if you decide to return a product which brings your total spend to under £15, the £5 credit will be deducted from your refund amount.

You'll need to live near an Amazon pickup location and not have used one before

If you haven't had an Amazon order delivered to a pickup location before, visit this Amazon* link to check if you're eligible for £3 off a £10 or more spend (and also check you live near a pickup location). It's best to go ASAP as it's only available until 10,000 have been claimed (or 31 December 2025 if that's later).

If you're eligible, enter the code 3OFFPICKUP in the 'Your gift certificates and coupons' section at the checkout. Add a minimum of £10 of qualifying products to your basket, choose your pickup location, and you'll be able to use your £3 off to reduce what you pay. You'll need to do this by 11.59pm on 31 December 2025.

The credit can only be used on items sold and dispatched by Amazon, and it won't work on gift cards, Resale deals, digital products, Amazon devices and accessories, e-books, alcohol, baby and infant formula, e-cigarettes (including e-liquids, refills and accessories), delivery costs, and gift wrapping costs.
