Pick up the September edition of the free magazine from Tesco (find your nearest*) to get a coupon for £1.10 off a six-pick of 1.5L of Harrogate spring water in-store, or online using code GRHLNP until Tuesday 29 September. When we checked, the water cost £4.30 before using the coupon.

Pick up the September edition of the free magazine from Tesco (find your nearest*) to get a coupon for £1 off a four-pack of Mr Kipling breakfast bakes in-store, or online using code GRPLHN until Wednesday 9 September. Flavours include chocolate chip, blueberry, and honey & nut. When we checked, a four-pack cost £2.50 before using the coupon.

Pick up the September edition of the free magazine from Tesco (find your nearest*) to get a coupon for £1.15 off any 500ml Baylis & Harding Goodness body washes, hand washes or bath soaks in-store, or online using code GRN4PN until Tuesday 29 September. When we checked, Baylis & Harding products started from £4 before using the coupon.

Pick up the September edition of the free magazine from Tesco (find your nearest*) to get a coupon for £2 off tubs of 30 Chewy Vites magnesium gummies for adults or Chewy Vites magnesium gummies three years+ for kids. You can redeem this coupon in-store, or online using code GRLN7M until Tuesday 29 September. When we checked, Chewy Vites cost £8 before using the coupon.

New coupon (such as crisps, cookies and more) every week via its app

Tesco is dishing out freebies every Thursday* to selected Clubcard members via its free app (Android/iOS). Despite ending its 'Freebie Thursdays' on Thursday 23 July, Tesco has brought them back with no confirmed end date at present - we'll update here when we know more.

You’ll need to check your account on Thursday morning to see if you’ve been given a free grocery item coupon. Tesco is keeping quiet on the full eligibility criteria, but it told us coupons are given to selected Clubcard members based on previous shopping habits.

Each coupon is valid for seven days from the date it is issued. You’ll need to redeem your freebie in-store (find your nearest*) by scanning the coupon in your Tesco app.

What freebies can I expect?

Tesco isn't revealing the freebies in advance, but here's what we've seen so far:

• Thursday 20 August - 500ml bottle of Fever-Tree Light Sicilian lemonade

• Thursday 6 August - 250g bag of Rana pasta

• Thursday 30 July - 150g bag of Tesco Finest crisps (multiple flavours)

• Thursday 16 July - One Tesco stonebaked pizza

• Thursday 9 July - 1.25l bottle of Diet Coke or Coca-Cola Zero Sugar

• Thursday 2 July - 200g pack of Pizza Express dough balls

• Thursday 25 June - four-pack of Tesco ice lollies

• Thursday 18 June - five-pack of Tesco in-store bakery cookies

• Thursday 11 June - 150g packet of Walkers Sensations crisps

Discounts on homeware, electricals & toys

If you go online to Tesco's eBay outlet*, you can get discounts on a range of items such as phones, TVs, homeware, electricals and more. It sells both new items and customer returns – all refurbished items are clearly marked.

When we checked on Monday 10 August, there were 250+ items listed on the eBay outlet. We spotted some outlet items were price-matched at other retailers, including Amazon. Make sure you always compare prices to ensure you're getting the best deal possible – even when shopping at an outlet.

Unfortunately, you can't collect Clubcard points via the Tesco outlet.

Incl using supermarket coupons and tracking offers

There are always ways to save money at Tesco so even if there isn't a cracking deal out there that works for you, don't assume you can't cut your costs further.

Ways to save include:

• Supermarket coupons. Make sure you check out our supermarket coupons page to save on your shopping.

• Take the Downshift Challenge. The phrasing and language used in shops hypnotises us into thinking the most costly is best. While the packaging looks more opulent, look beneath it and sometimes you won't be able to tell the difference (often it's even made in the same factory). Take our Downshift Challenge.

• Track if it's really a bargain. Most of us know just because a supermarket lists an item as "on offer", that doesn't mean it's cheap. The trouble has been sorting awesome offers from poor promos.

• Time trips right to bag huge yellow sticker discounts. If you spot a yellow sticker discount - fantastic. Grab it and use it quickly as it's a saving on perfectly good nosh. See when Tesco normally reduces its produce in our Cheap Supermarket Shopping guide.

• Check out similar retailers, eg, Asda, Sainsbury's and the other major supermarkets. If you're not committed to buying from Tesco, check out our deals from Asda, Aldi, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Lidl and Waitrose, where they may have a better offer.

• Try haggling. We polled 1,400 MoneySavers to find out in which shops hagglers have most success. Supermarkets did feature, so it's worth a go. Find out more in our Haggle on the High Street guide.

• Had a problem with Tesco? There’s a free online tool you can use to complain – it helps draft, manage and if necessary escalate your complaint. It’s offered by a firm called Resolver, which we like so much we work with it to help people get complaints justice – you can use it to complain to Tesco*.
